Fitram why, what, with whom???

Some people ask: Fitram why, what, with whom???
We supposed that all the documents we sent you were enough eloquent to explain especially the synthesis of last september.
Oncer more, we explain shortly.

Fitram why

The actions in AMAT (animal mediated animation and therapy) have no legal foundation: “anybody can do anything”, that happens more and more.
We have to fight for a political recognition based on “good practices”, thanks to good formations.

Fitram What, with whom?

Creators of the fitram decided to work on an european basis

• by contributing at an european framework for our activities
• by demonstrating on european level the efficiency of mediation through art or animals, so as to awaken a political interest.

The Fitram is agreed , since 2008,as an NGO expert in this fields, ans has a participatif status at the Council of Europe. The Council of Europe,was firs european institution,t created after the war;, in Strasbourg, as a sign of reconciliation between France and Germany. It can be considered as “the brain”of european management: it makes the researches, thinks about problems, give councils , but cannot intervene directly in the politic of the States. But everybody agree that the recommendations of the C.E. are often first rejected, and in second time applied in the member States who have an official permanent representation at the Council. (the parlementary assembly and the council of ministers).
On the contrary, The European Union (parlement in Bruxelles and in Strasbourg) is built on economic preoccupations, has a power of decision, makes laws, and has money!
The todays objectif is to unifie the knowledges in a specific profession between the european workers: we profit from this through our project “Leonardo da Vinci” that you know (look webside).
This project , if it is agreed, will also be a great step for us in the European Union, where our conclusions shall be read by the “officials”, shall be discussed and brought back by the Politicians to the member States.

So, being activ at the Council of Europe allows us to be known at the European Union .Our permanent delegate is the EASPD , a huge federation of 800 associations: Handhippo (Belgium) is our delegate in the EASPD.

In Strasbourg, we work in the commissions of health, handicap, poverty, ecology and human rights. Our delegates are the associations near strasbourg: lianes (dogs for tramps), handi-chiens (dogs for elderly people), feetac (horses for persons with psychological difficulties), ans other indirect partners like scientists.

We are know well known in these institutions: for the first time, we have been invited to the

Pet Night

meeting of associations who work for animals or with animals

in the European Parliament where many members of the Parliament where present: we shall have their adress.

Other NGOs, in Strasbourg, help us to create a

Side Event

a show organized in the Council and in face of the parliamentary assembly by people who want to draw attention on a specific problem.

Next october (the third) , in partnership with an NGO who defends horse races,we shall put persons with disabilities on “Ardennais”, a specific french race used to plouph and…to be eaten!!
These horses are wonderful with children with disabilities : we shall demonstrate it! We shall especially invite the ministers in coaches drawn by Ardennais.
You can imagine that those events are much more eloquent then long speeches!

Research

You all worked on the Leonardo Project..;so you know.
Perhaps we may link it with a proposal of”Horses and human research foundation”(USA)to investigate the therapeutic effect of horses on humans: we are in touch with them.
There is an other proposal of “Cost’(eur;scient.network on equine assisted therapy)” :it is to late for this time, but the IPTH (institut fuer pferdegeschuetzte therapie) invites us for the next one.

As well for us: and You?

You may imagine that the fitram is nobody out of the investment of the members!
Today, we are all volunteers…and we pay our fees…because there is no money!! The NGO agreed by the Coucil are also volunteers.
But the members of the board, and especially the young ones, have done a very good work: we don’t meet often…the distances are long…but internet is a solution, even it is not the best, in my regards: when shall we do therapy through internet?
Everybody must be concerned if fitram wants to progress: the research is based on the practice, but a practice on which we look with “research eyes”asking always: what am I doing here?
Fitram wants to collect all these interrogations, and the hypothesis with which we try to answer: Fitram wants to be a large field of questions and answers, even above very little events!
Use our web (fitram.eu: have you suggestions for its structure?),use the mail…the phone…but take part!
You surely have to tell “little stories” that happen every day….why not send them to us???it is not necessary that they are “well written”…it will do with the idea..;and we’ll find a “good writer”.The “Public” does not really know what we do…a book with little stories telling about our little daily experiences would be a success!
